Save Oldham's Station Canopy

Oldham Mumps

East Lancashire Railway has been offered the opportunity to purchase the large surviving Lancashire & Yorkshire canopy which currently stands at Oldham Mumps station.

 

Time is against us as it is due to be demolished in the next few weeks

We need urgent support from ELRPS members and supporters of the railway

There are no trains running at the moment. Services will resume on Saturday 13th February 2010 with the Blue timetable


Drive 70013 "Oliver Cromwell"

70013 Oliver CromwellRe-live Sunday 11th August 1968 - “The Last Day of BR Steam” when BR Standard Class Britannia Locomotive 70013, “Oliver Cromwell” hauled Special Excursion IT57 “The 15 Guinea Special” over the Settle and Carlisle Railway.

This Is a unique opportunity to Drive and Fire 70013, “Oliver Cromwell, hauling the last two coaches which were used on the 15 Guinea Special, on the East Lancashire Railway on 16th February 2010. The footplate experience will follow our usual format with participants each driving and firing for 8 miles on the ELR line from Bury to Heywood and Ramsbottom.

Closing Date for receipt of applications is 17:00 on 11th February 2010, Applications will be processed on a first come first served basis.

The cost will be £375 per person and 8 participants will be required for day to run.

National Travel Passes

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PASSENGERS ELIGIBLE TO NATIONAL TRAVEL PASSES FROM 1st APRIL 2008

Please note that the East Lancashire Railway does not provide free travel to passengers in possession of the new National Travel Passes. However, concession rate travel is available to passengers with these passes.


Free Bus Travel for East Lancashire Railway Passengers

Passengers arriving by ELR train at Rawtenstall can now travel free to Rawtenstall Town Centre & Market on Rossendale Transport bus services 482 and 483.

Passengers travelling to Heywood station from M62 Junction 19

Please follow the brown steam train signs which will direct you to Green Lane. Once you have passed over the level crossing take the second turning on your left into Cross Street; this will then lead you onto Railway Street.
